Caraway

Caraway is considered to aid digestion and is therefore often added to foods that are difficult to digest. Caraway seeds are often used to flavour cabbage dishes (e.g. sauerkraut). Caraway is also a typical bread spice. In bakeries, the seeds are used both ground and whole. Especially in southern Germany, caraway seeds are often added to bread rolls and other baked goods. Caraway seeds are also used to make tea, especially together with aniseed and fennel seeds.
